Toyota is ready to launch the new Corolla Altis diesel variant on 21st July this year. There have been several speculations regarding the launch of the diesel model recently. According to the official statement from Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motors, “We will launch the Corolla Altis diesel anytime between 20th and 23rd of July. We haven’t finalized the date, but it will be on one of these three days.”
Toyota will launch the new diesel model powered by 1.4L 90hp CRDi engine coupled with 6-speed transmission. The model is expected to be priced at least Rs 1 lakh above the petrol model. It will be imported as completely knocked down unit and will be assembled at the TKM plant to make it price competitive.
The model has ARAI certification of delivering mileage of 21.43 kmpl. Such a mileage clubbed with Toyota performance is expected to attract family car buyers and fleet operators alike. The diesel model will carry same looks and features as its petrol variant and there are no changed expected in the interiors as well.
