Toyota Camry Hybrid updated for 2017

The Toyota Camry has undergone an update and now gets a price tag of Rs 31.98 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. The 2017 update of the Toyota Camry includes projector headlamps with LED illumination and the LED daytime running lamps. Even the fog lamps now get the LED treatment. The car now sits on bigger 18 inch 15-spoke alloys. The reverse linked ORVMs (the mirrors dip when you slot in reverse) are auto folding and electrically operated.

Inside, the infotainment system gets a new interface for convenient navigation and an audio setup of 12 JBL speakers. The interior also gets the hybrid touch, quite literally. You have a new wireless charging system for select phones. The rear armrest houses the switches for the reclining rear seats, temperature control in the back and the electric sunshade for the rear windscreen. The rear windows also gets a sunshade that can be pulled up whenever needed.

The Camry is now replete with 9-airbag package, a new tyre pressure monitoring system and emergency brake lights. ISOFIX mounts of the rear seats have been standard along with vehicle stability control, traction control, ABS et al. Under the hood, the 2.5-litre petrol engine works in conjunction with the electric motors to develop a combined output of 203 bhp of power. The powertrain is mated to an electronically controlled CVT automatic transmission that powers the front wheels and delivers an ARAI claimed fuel efficiency of 19.16 kmpl.

Toyota had introduced the Camry Hybrid in 2015 and since then it has been the highest selling hybrid car in the country. Toyota has updated the Camry and it now gets more equipment to take on its D-segment competition of the Skoda Superb and the Honda Accord.
