Toyota is present in India as Toyota Kirloskar Motors. The company may have suffered severe set back in the overseas market but in India it still remains unfazed. Toyota is not brand-hit in the country as in the overseas market which makes it bullish in the Indian domestic market. It sold 11982 units in Jan-Feb 2010 which is 109 percent growth in sales volume as compared to the same period last year. "No impact in India. Our sales have doubled. It's limited to the US. Each of our vehicles is in short supply (in India)", said Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director (Marketing) of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM).

Toyota is aiming to sell at least 70000 units this year and plans to have at least 25 percent sales growth in the Indian market. Toyota is also planning to launch its small car model Etios in India next year which is expected to generate volumes for the company. "So, as we go along (in the rest of the calendar year), the growth may not be 100 per cent. It will taper down,” Singh added further.
