Impressive performance and unique exhaust note have always pumped up the heart beats for global car enthusiasts. Last month, test mule images of four performance cars were revealed by us and a few of them might be showcased at the upcoming 2017 Frankfurt Auto Show as well. Read on to find more about the performance cars which were spotted on test in August.

Top 4 performance cars in August

      Porsche 718 Cayman GTS

The Porsche 718 Cayman GTS has been spotted on test with minimal camouflage. The front-end features larger air intakes, while the rear portion of the car reveals a re-designed diffuser that also holds centrally-positioned twin exhausts. Porsche 718 Cayman GTS will get a 2.5-litre motor that makes 350bhp in the S version. However, expect the engine to be tweaked to make an extra 20bhp over its ‘S’ sibling.

      Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

The all-new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 had been spotted in near production-ready form. Technical details about the hypercar is not known for now and reports indicate that it might either be the LT4 V8 which powers the Corvette Z06 and the Camaro ZL1 or it might get the all-new LT5 DOHC V8, which the company had confirmed will be offered in the 2018 Corvette.

      Mercedes AMG GT4

Mercedes-Benz has recently been spotted testing its upcoming four-door sports sedan, which is speculated to be the AMG GT4. Based on what can be seen, the vehicle will get full-LED projector unit, large wheel arches, sharp full LED tail lamp and a diffuser with quad exhaust tips for that sporty quotient. Reports indicate that AMG GT4 might get 4-litre twin-turbo V8 aided by a hybrid KERS (Kinetic energy recovery system). Combined, it is expected to generate 805bhp of power and also get the Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

      BMW M8 convertible

The BMW M8 convertible was recently spotted on test. Based on what could be seen, it gets typical M design elements like larger air intakes, modified brakes and a sports exhaust with four tailpipes. Moreover, to distinguish it from the standard 8 series convertible, the vehicle also gets wider track and aerodynamically optimised body panels. Mechanically, we believe that the M8 convertible will get the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and four-wheel-drive system that generates 600bhp and was seen in the recently unveiled sixth generation M5.
