The trend of exclusive smart phone applications is slowly picking up in the country, with many top auto players making some immense progress in this regard. Premium luxury car makers have developed their own custom made smart apps, such as Ferrari, BMW and Maserati amongst others.

Maserati, the Italian luxury sports car maker, has designed its exclusive app called 'Maserati' available on Android, iPad and iPhone platforms. The smartphone application lets you listen to 4.7 litre of exhaust scream, an audible heaven for most car enthusiasts. Further, using the app a person can download wallpapers, watch videos and set exhaust notes of a Maserati Gran Turismo MC Stradale as a ringtone.

BMW, the well appreciated German automobile marque, has designed its own smartphone application called 'BMW Ultimate Drive'. The best part is that the app can be downloaded by even those people, who personally do not own a Beamer. The BMW Ultimate Drive is a great tool for exploring routes that are added and rated by other users. The handy map based app also keeps its user updated with latest news and developments emerging from stables of the German auto major.

The Mahindra 'Blue Sense' has paved the way for other auto majors to design and develop their own custom made phone applications. Since usage of smartphones is getting more and more widespread, exclusive and feature driven apps are generating a great deal of interest among domestic car enthusiasts. In the near future, trendy feature laced applications are going to be more cutting-edge and definitely in demand.
