      Top 5 highlights for the Tata Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP

      Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP, the two performance-focused models are due for launch on 26 October 2018. The cars are developed under a partnership between Tata Motors and a Coimbatore based company named Jayem Automotives. Here below are the top five highlights for the upcoming Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP –

      Exterior

      The Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP feature a tweaked front end complete with a large trapezoidal lower grille, dual chamber projector headlamps with chrome rings, 15-inch diamond cut dual tone wider 6.5J alloy wheels, sporty side skirts, stylish contrast coloured ORVMs and sportier bumpers. The cars are also available in dual tone exterior combination with a glossy black roof and rear spoiler. Additionally, the vehicles feature a bold badge on the front grille, fender vents and the rear.

      Interior

      The JTP badged cars get an all-black interior with sporty red accents on the AC vents, premium leather wrapped steering wheel with contrast red stitching, special seat fabric with red hexagonal motif and red double stitching on the seats and gearshift gaiter. To complete the sporty feel, the cars come with aluminum pedal extensions. The cars also get the Harman ConnectNext infotainment system with an app suite and voice command recognition, and eight speakers.

      Engine

      Under the hood, the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP are powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged Revotron petrol engine that generates 112bhp of power at 5000rpm and 150Nm of torque between 2000-4000rpm. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

      Safety

      Speaking of safety, the cars get dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and corner stability control. The suspension has been tuned to offer better drive control, calibrated electric power assisted steering, lower ride height and wider tyres for better grip on the road.

      Competition

      Post launch, the Tata Tigor JTP and the Tata Tiago JTP will compete against the likes of the Volkswagen Polo GT, Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS, Ford Figo Sport which is due for an update in its latest iteration.
