A facelifted version of the Mahindra XUV500 will be launched later this year. This is expected to be a mid-life update for the Indian automaker’s current flagship and here are some of the details on the kind of updates it will get.

      Top 4 features of 2018 Mahindra XUV500

      New headlight assembly and grille
One of the defining traits of the XUV range has always been its face, thanks to the shape of the head lamps and the grille. Well, Mahindra has retained this look with an updated grille as well as a head lamp assembly. The grille retains the six-slat setup but now they have covered it in chrome. It’s a similar story with the headlamps where the LED DRLs have now moved from between the bulbs to a strip on the top of the light package.

Revised tail lamp and tail gate
The change to the look of the XUV500 has been comprehensive with changes both in the front and back. The changes at the rear comprise a new design for the tail gate which now sees the door get rounded edges. The XUV’s stacked tail lamps have been replaced in favour of a wedge like design.

      Diamond cut alloy wheels
To up the premium factor of the car, Mahindra will now add diamond cut alloy wheels to the design package. However, we believe these will only be on the top-spec W10 variants. The other lower spec models are likely to get a less comprehensive design for the alloys/wheel covers.

      Interior highlights
Our sources have confirmed that this updated XUV will get better quality leather than the outgoing model, piano black finish for the centre console as well as leather inserts in the door cards. However, this is only expected to be offered on the top models.
The updated XUV500 is expected to be offered with the 2.2-litre diesel and petrol engine. Both engines get the option of a six-speed manual or a six-speed AT.
