A few months back, Honda spoke about launching a 160cc bike in India and now the company just recently launched a 160cc adventure motorcycle in Brazil. The bike, titled NXR 160 Bros is similar to the Hero MotorCorp's impulse in terms of the design. There exists only one question now- Is this the 160cc bike that will be coming to India?

Almost like a replica of the Hero MotoCorp Impulse, the Honda NXR 160 Bros is very much what Honda needs. Though Honda has given its patent touches to the bike- a sharp rear end, shrouds and an angular headlight front, there is no denying the uncanny resemblance.

With a 162.7cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled, single cylinder OHC engine, the bike is assembled with a 5-speed gearbox. To increase the mileage and reduce the air pollution, the bike utilizes the PGM-FI, which also happens to provide a better acceleration. The motor can provide a power output of 14.3 bhp at 8500 rpm with 14.3 Nm at 5500 rpm.

Brazil, being the second largest producer of ethanol fuel in the world, can accommodate the NXR in two variants, Gasoline, and Ethanol run. Brazil, because of this fact, makes vehicles that are fuel flexible. Unfortunately, the Indian version will not support this feature. The NXR also has a primary exhaust tube which comes with an expansion chamber.

The NXR 160 Bros comes in two variants in Brazil- the ESD and the ESSD. The later comes with rear disk brakes. Honda has priced them at R$ 9,350 (Rs. 2.24 Lakhs approximately) and R$ 9,650 (Rs. 2.31 Lakhs approximately), respectively.
