Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of the German automobile giant, has been working really hard to maintain its big share in the booming car market, since they decided to enter the country in the year 2007 with its first car - Passat. Since then, the auto maker has come a long way and released many new successful products like Jetta and Vento, along with the highly successful hatchback, Polo.

The company has been rolling out updated models of all its cars, and the Volkswagen Jetta will be the latest in the line to get one. The new Volkswagen Jetta will be launched in the Indian market on 17th February. The new Jetta hasn’t undergone complete changes and comes with the same engine under the hood. The facelifted model though gets many small reasons to make the car look more appealing. The new Jetta will come with new grille, bumpers and fog lamps. Jetta will feature a set of new alloy wheels. The tail lamp seems to be inspired from the one on the Audi A4, and the car will have all new rear reflectors that make it look more bold and edgy. The headlights will get chrome inserts and LED accents. The new Jetta will also come equipped with a flat-bottomed steering wheel just like present in the new Polo and Vento.

The interiors of the car have also been tweaked quite a bit to improve its overall class. The instrument panel is completely changed and now houses two main dials and a bigger screen in between them. The new Jetta will also come equipped with a brand new touchscreen infotainment system. Though the car is given a major facelift, everything under the hood vastly remains the same. The car will still come with a 1.4 litre TSI petrol and 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine. Though the diesel engine is now capable of churning out slightly more power of 150 PS compared to the 140 PS of its predecessor. The new VW Jetta is expected to see a slight increase in its price and will be competing against the likes of Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra.
