Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, one of India's most popular models, is also sold as Suzuki Solio in several overseas markets. Suzuki is now ready to introduce a new Suzuki Solio 2011 model, which had first arrived in the international market in 1997 as the box-shaped hatch-back model. The Solio is primarily sold in Japan and Taiwan at present.
According to Japan’s mag-x, new generation of Solio will share chassis and engine with the new Swift, but will have more personalized appearance. The car will run under YK8 codename and have a body size of about 3750 MM X 1685MM X 1660MM, with 2430MM wheelbase. The new model will have similar tall-boy design but will have more leg space and will be spacious from inside due to a longer wheelbase in the 2011 model. Other features include short roof antenna, a small grille, large front air dam, straight tail group, multi-channel body lines, and 15-inch alloy wheels.
The engine will be shared with the new Swift and have the same inline four-cylinder 1242cc DOHC VVT equipped with variable valve naturally aspirated gasoline engine. The maximum horsepower is estimated at 90hp/6000rpm, torque 11.8kgm/4800rpm. The mileage is estimated at 23.0-24.0km / L.
