Harley-Davidson Street 750 has bagged the eighth edition of the Indian motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) award. There were a number of competitors from different segments for this edition of the competition. There were proven and tested ones like the Bajaj Discover 150F, while there were also extreme performers on the track like Triumph Daytona 675R. This had made the task of the jury immensely more difficult than the previous years.

The top three contenders for this edition of IMOTY 2015 were from different segments – Suzuki Gixxer, KTM RC 390 and Harley-Davidson Street 750. At the end of rounds of judgements, Raghupati Singhania, chairman and managing director, JK Tyre and Aspi Bhathena, chairman awarded the prized IMOTY 2015 to Anoop Prakash, who is the Managing Director of Harley-Davidson in India.

It was quite an apt choice when it came to opting for the Harley-Davidson Street 750. It is priced only at 4.3 lakhs INR, which leaves quite a scope for buyers. Procuring a Harley-Davidson model at this rate just sounded like a day in paradise. It also felt great to handle the bike on the Indian streets. The bike had to edge past able competitors like Triumph Thruxton, Triumph Street Triple, Triumph Bonneville T100, KTM RC 200 Kawasaki ER-6n, Hyosung Aquila GV250 and Kawasaki Z250.

A number of parameters are kept in mind when the IMOTY is selected. Some of them are price, comfort, looks, mileage, safety, practicality, performance as well as technical innovation. The Royal Enfield Continental was the one to win the coveted title last year. Some other previous winners include Honda CBR 250R in 2012 and KTM 200 Duke in 2013.
