Tata Motors kicked up a lot of dirt in India this year with its revolutionary Revotron engine. The country's popular carmaker launched the Zest sedan laden with its revolutionary technology based new engine for the domestic market. The company has also earlier indicated its plans to the Bolt hatchback, but later decided to postpone its launch to next year to avoid conflict of its offerings in the domestic market. The company had also revealed its Horizonext strategy sometime in June last year, wherein its focus was to deliver world-class manufacturing practices and provide a rich customer purchase experience with consistent quality of service to its valued customers.
The upcoming Tata Bolt gets an electronic power steering with a 5.1m turning radius as a standard feature. The vehicle shall be available in diesel as well as petrol trims, wherein the diesel version shall be powered by 1.3-litre Fiat engine that is capable of generating a maximum power output of about 75 PS at 4000 rpm and about 190 Nm of torque at 1750 - 3000 rpm. The petrol trim is powered by 1.2-litre engine that is capable of churning out a power output of about 90 PS at 5000 rpm and maximum torque output of about 140 Nm at 1500 - 4000 rpm.
On the exterior you can expect to see 175/65 R15 tubeless tyres that sits comfortably on 15-inch alloy wheels. As for safety the hatchback is likely to get driver and front passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, speed sensing auto door locks, Corner Stability Control, burglar alarm, 3-point seat belts, day night IRVM and engine immobilizer. As for the interiors the Bolt hatchback is adorned with adequate amount of Chrome on gera knob, instrument console, vents and door-open handles. For entertainment, you shall get touch screen based infotainment system that supports smart phone based navigation, supports video playback, voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, in-built HVAC controls and smart phone integration function.
