Toyota-owned luxury car brand Lexus released a teaser image of ES, its upcoming sedan, ahead of the much-anticipated motor show in Shanghai, which will go on for over a week from April 22nd to April 29th. At present, there is some amount of ambiguity about the car as to whether it is an upgraded version or a new model altogether. However, it is a known fact that the same sixth-generation car that was introduced in 2012 will be launched in the Chinese car market. The automatic implication of the same would be that there is no chance of a direct replacement at present and only the introduction of a facelift version might be on the cards.
According to a statement released by the company, “the new Lexus ES maintains its classical elegance while conveying a more dynamic experience and luxurious craftsmanship.”
Certain alterations have been made by Lexus to the new ES and they were visible from the teaser. This new version of the ES is likely to come with a freshly designed headlight featuring LED daytime running lights in the shape of a boomerang. More aggressive lines and a wider version of the Lexus Spindle grille sporting an hour-glass like look are the other changes made to this car.
Reportedly, Lexus has styled the ES keeping in mind the style level of other models, such as RC coupe, new generation RX Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and NX crossover.
