Skoda has released a teaser image of its upcoming 2015 Fabia hatchback on its official Facebook page days ahead of its online debut. The teaser image primarily shows the head light unit of the high end variant of new Fabia.
It further delves into the detailing of the head lamp unit that gets projector element, halogen element, clear lens turn indicator and LED daytime running lights. Falling in line with the Vision C Concept, there is an upward twist where the headlamp unites with the redesigned grille. Most of the design tweaks have been done on the front end while rest of the vehicle retains Skoda’s cliché traits.
Comprehensive modifications have been done inside the cabin to render it a completely new look. A host of distinctive goodies are also expected to make their way into the cabin. Refreshed Fabia is based on the same platform that underpins previous version, though Skoda has revised the platform thoroughly. 2015 Fabia has also received dimensional tweaks such as the vehicle is wider by 9cm, lower by 3 cm and is lighter by 65 kg.
For an improved fuel economy engines have also been refined and are claimed to deliver increased fuel economy by 17 per cent. Petrol variants could be offered in two engine options including a 1.0 litre, three pot MPI and a 1.2 litre, four cylinder TSI engine outputting power ranging between 60PS to 110PS.
Diesel range will come loaded with a 1.4 litre unit, three cylinder powertrain outputting varied power output of 74 PS and 103 PS. Sources reveal that following the launch of regular model, a Green Line variant will also be introduced by next year. 2015 Skoda Fabia will be manufactured at the company’s Mlada Boleslav plant, production of the hatchback is likely to begin from end of this month. Skoda is eyeing launching 2015 Fabia n Europe by end of this year, while India launch is uncertain for now. However it may make its comeback later but for now India launch is not on cards.
