Tata Hexa will be launched in India tomorrow. The long awaited premium SUV from Tata is a replacement to the Aria crossover.

Tata to launch the Hexa in India tomorrow

Tata has worked upon the new Hexa to follow its new design philosophy. The Hexa comes with a new grille, headlamps and a redesigned silhouette with a reworked rear. The interior is a major step-up in terms of features and quality. The Hexa will be offered in either six-seater or a seven-seater configuration and will be available in 14 trims. It include six automatic and eight manual variants and multiple 4X4 automatic options

Under the hood will be the 2.2-litre diesel engine in two states of tune. Only the base XE variant will have a Varicor 320 engine producing 148bhp and 320Nm. The Varicor 400, on the other hand, produces 154bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. The Varicor 320 will be available with only two-wheel drive set-up and a five-speed manual transmission. The engines will come mated to either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. There will be an option of the all-wheel drive system as well with driving modes — Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road.

The Hexa will face a stiff competition from the likes of Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta when launched in India. The pricing is a key factor for the Hexa and we expect Tata to price the Hexa competitively between Rs 13 lakh to Rs 18 lakh.
