Earlier this year, Tata Motors had showcased the Tigor JTP with twin barrel exhaust as a concept at the 2018 Auto Expo event in India. A couple of months down the line, the Tigor JTP has been spotted on test in Coimbatore with the same twin barrel exhaust which was seen earlier this year, thereby indicating on its possible launch sometime soon. The vehicle is jointly built with the Coimbatore-based Jayem Automotives.

The Tigor JTP gets a sporty body kit which includes – smoked-finish headlamps, a matte grille, new alloy wheels, side skirts and a sporty rear bumper with an integrated spoiler. Additionally, it also gets red mirror covers, red brake callipers and off-centre air scoop on the hood. Focused for better performance, the Tigor JTP will also offer stiffer suspension and a lower ground clearance. The test mule has been spotted with parking sensors at the rear.

Under the hood, the Tata Tigor JTP will be powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 108bhp of power and 150Nm of torque. The engine borrowed from the Nexon will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Although the pricing aspect remains unknown for now, we believe it might cost about a lakh more than the current price. The company has also been working on the Tiago JTP for a while now.
