Tata Tiago, the new name for the Zica hatchback is all geared-up to debut in India soon. Based on the new Impact design philosophy, the Tiago features a new age design. It is believed that the company shall introduce the AMT variant along with the standard manual transmission. The company may not introduce CVT option owing to the cost factor. Post launch, the hatchback shall emerge as a strong competitor against the Maruti’s Celerio and Hyundai Grand i10.
The Tata Tiago shall be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol would generate about 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that effectively generates about 83.8bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 114Nm of torque at 3,500rpm. The diesel on the other hand comes with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine that puts out 69bhp of power 4,000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 1,800-3,000rpm. Tata Motors known for its impressive cabin space across its range shall continue to impress potential buyers for the Tiago in India.
Initially, the AMT variant would be offered in petrol trims only while diesel may get it at a later date. If introduced in diesel too, the Tiago could indeed be the first one to get it in its segment. Complete details on the list of features variant-wise and pricing aspect may be known in the coming days.
