Tata Sumo Gold emerged victorious in the 10th edition of the Desert Storm 2012 rally, which is one of India’s toughest and longest off-roading events. Mr. Ganesh Moorthy and co-driver Mr. T. Nagrajan became winners with their new Tata Sumo Gold. The third position was occupied by Tata Sumo Grande driven by Mr. Sanjay Ram Takle and co-driver Mr. Mohd. Mustafa.
The 6-day long Desert Storm rally is one of the most challenging rallies of India and it also known as the mini Dakar rally. On 20th February, 2012, the 3,500 km racing event started from Ahmedabad, and covering Rann of Kutch, Bhuj, interiors of Rajasthan through Barmer, Jaiselmer, Pokhran, Thar, Bikaner, and Jaipur, it ended in Delhi.
