Tata will launch the Nexon compact SUV in India tomorrow. It’s the Indian automaker’s third SUV in their line-up and is their first foray into the highly competitive compact SUV segment. We have already driven the car and you can find the link to our first drive review here.

Tata Nexon to be launched in India tomorrow

The Tata Nexon will be offered in India in four petrol and diesel variants and across five colour options.  This variant list includes a new top-of the line XZ+ variant (which is what we have driven). On the outside, the Nexon gets a slightly varied version of the latest Tata family face complete with projector headlamps and LED DRLs. The side is dominated by a forward leaning stance while the rear gets white accents which give the car its unique look.

Its standard Tata fare in the cabin, but now in a three-tone setup across all variants. The top-of-the-line model that we drove gets climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with floating display and eight speakers, button start, rotary dial for drive mode selection and a 350-litre boot.

The Nexon is being offered with two engines. The petrol is a 1.2-litre i4 producing 108bhp/170Nm while the diesel is a new 1.5-litre unit producing 108bhp/260Nm. At the time of the launch, there will only be a six-speed manual on offer but spy shots confirm that there is an AMT in the pipeline.

We believe that Tata will price the Nexon in the range of Rs 6.5 lakhs to Rs 9 lakhs. It competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Honda WR-V and the Mahindra TUV300 in the compact SUV segment.
