Speculations are doing rounds once again! Tata Nano is expected to be launched on March 3. This time there seems to be a tiny element of truth in the speculations. Tata dealerships are already buzzing with lots of activity. The bookings for Nano are already on for the VIPs. Moreover, Nano has been recently spotted at The Golden Temple in Amritsar and at The Dargah Sharif in Ajmer.
“Ratan Tata himself instructed that the blessings of different leading shrines of our pluralistic country should be sought before the Nano hits the road,” said one of the five officials who travelled in the car to Amritsar. The Nano spotted in Ajmer was built in Pimpri in Maharashtra. It was airlifted from Mumbai till Jaipur and then it drove down to Ajmer for the blessings.
Nano is expected to be launched first in Gujarat but there is no official word about it from Tata. The mother plant for Tata Nano is located in Gujarat in Sanand near Ahmedabad. The plant will be ready by end 2009 or early 2010. The first batch of Tata Nano is expected to have 3000 units.
