Tata Motors is all set to inaugurate its mother plant for Tata Nano on June 02, 2010. The new manufacturing unit will have a capacity to produce 2.5 lakh units per year and models produced will be enhanced version of existing Nano. Tata Motors has already taken into account feedbacks and customer response on its existing models in the country.

Tata Motors had opened bookings for Tata Nano for the first one lakh customers who were price protected. The bookings were made for the various models at a starting price of Rs. 1 lakh for the base model. The company has so far delivered about 35,000 units from its Pantnagar facility and shall fulfill all deliveries by Oct-Dec quarter this year.

New bookings for fresh Tata Nano are expected to reopen from December this year and the car may be readily available at the dealerships henceforth. Tata Motors is also considering a fresh marketing campaign for the world’s cheapest car as it feels that the first euphoria of owning world’s cheapest car has died down and a fresh marketing campaign is needed to renew customer interest. The new marketing campaign will be launched only after the first one lakh cars are delivered completely.
