Tata Motors launched world’s cheapest car earlier this year in the Indian market. It also showcased the European model later on which has passed all the quality tests specified by the European Union. The additional features and the quality of car make Tata Nano Europa pricier than its Indian sibling, and the European model will be at least two times more expensive than the Indian model.

The new European model will have 5-speed transmission instead of 4-speed manual gear box in the Indian model. Nano Europa also features stricter safety features that have been intensified due to European Union norms. It has better fuel economy and reduced ejection of gases. It will be powered by 1.0- liter engine with three cylinders with a power of 60 horsepower. It will feature anti-breaking system (ABS), the electro-amplifier of control and 14 inch alloy wheels.

European motorists will be able to drive the sub-compact car by late 2011.

Tata Motors is also planning to launch a hybrid model of the car as well as an electric model. Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors has already announced that the company is seriously thinking of alternative fuel models that will be first launched in domestic market and later exported to Europe and the United States.
