      Tata Motors has recently ushered in a new Utility vehicle named Movus in two trim variants namely - CX and LX. The vehicle is available in flexible in seven, eight and nine seater trims with seating options like front facing, side-facing and Captain seats. The 'Sumo' MUV from Tata has been a present on Indian roads from days when the concept of MUV's was still an alien term to the local market. The locally loved MUV has now come in an all new avatar rechristened as 'Sumo Gold'.

      Movus UV is packed with a 2.2 litre VARICOR engine that engenders a maximum power output of 120 PS along with a peak torque of 250 Nm. As per company officials, the MPV promises to offer segment best pick-up and fuel economy of about 15.16 kmpl. Moreover, the vehicle has been smartly designed with ground clearance of about 180 mm, thereby making it easy for passengers to enter and exit the vehicle. Tata Motors is proffering engine warranty of three years or 150,000 kms whichever comes earlier on new Movus. Suspension has been tuned to work effortlessly on erratic surfaces. In the front, an independent double wishbone with coil springs and at the rear a parabolic leaf spring-type suspension has been fitted. Movus comes with a considerably large fuel tank capacity of 65 litres and an eminent load carrying capacity.

      The three rowed UV has a 2550 mm of wheelbase which allows ample space in the third row along with comfortable legroom for the passengers sitting at the rear. Ground clearance of 180 mm makes it easy for passengers for entering and exiting the vehicle. Movus’s low turning radius of 5.35 meters and tilt-able power steering system allows easy maneuverability amid thick traffic conditions. Tata is offering new Movus UV in two color options- Porcelain White and Meteor Silver. The company claims that Movus demands low servicing and maintenance cost.

      The Sumo Gold is available in BS-III as well as BS-IV variant. The BS-III variant is powered by 2956 CC 4SP TCIC Engine that generates about 50-52 kw of power at 3000 rpm and 223 Nm of torque at 1600 - 2200 rpm. The BS-IV version is powered by 2956 CC 3.0 CR4 Engine that generates a max power of about 60-62 kw at 3000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1000 - 2000 rpm. For a comfortable drive both the versions are blessed with Double wishbone type with coil springs & anti-roll bar suspension for the front, whereas the rear gets Parabolic leaf springs & anti-roll bar suspension.

      Cabin space has never been a problem with Sumo since its early inception days. The MUV is loaded with ample space and comfort for all seven occupants. The Sumo Gold has also earned the title for being the tallest vehicle in class with class leading seating space and comfort for all occupants. Unpleasant noises and vibrations normally found in the cabin space have been eliminated with the use of sealants specifically to reduce Noise Vibration & Harshness (NVH). The interiors are also fairly decent and appealing as compared to the previous versions. Moreover, dual AC function provides much relief to the rear seated passengers. USB and Bluetooth connectivity adorn the dashboard featuring wood finish center console.
