According to the latest statement from a senior official with Tata Motors, the company is planning to step up production of its Nano cars at least by twenty percent. "In the last three months, we have been averaging about 2,500 Nano's per month," Rajiv Dube, head of the company's passenger car business said. "We are gearing up for a higher number and we are ramping up our production capacity by 20 percent from this month." he added. The company expects that the sales will be more than 3000 per month after the production is increased.

Tata Motors also launched Manza in India on Wednesday which is its first sedan in nearly seven years. The new model is expected to compete with Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.'s Swift Dzire, Fiat SpA's Linea, General Motors Co.'s Chevrolet Aveo and Ford Motor Co.'s Fiesta and Ikon models.

Tata Motors also owns world class brands Jaguar and Land Rover. It has recently obtained funding from State Bank of India to cover its loans on JLR. It is also planning to put Land Rover LRX into production which will be more eco-friendly and customer oriented.
