The Tata Nexon is expected to be launched in India on 21 September. And ahead of its launch, the carmaker will officially start accepting bookings of the SUV on 11 September at Rs 11,000.
The launch of the Nexon SUV is very important for Tata primarily for two reasons. Firstly, the vehicle will fill the void in the compact SUV segment for the company. Secondly, it debuts the brand's two new engines - a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged three-cylinder petrol mill and the other 1.5-litre Revotorq turbocharged four-cylinder diesel unit. We will also see the introduction of the six-speed manual gearbox, while the one with the AMT is set to be launched at a later date.
The Tata Nexon is the latest product from the carmaker boasting of a new design language. It is packed with many practical and segment-first features. It is being produced at the carmaker's manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon, Maharashtra. Upon launch, the Nexon will go up against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra TUV 300 in India.
