      Tata Motors to launch Zest sedan on August 12

      Tata Motors will launch the much-anticipated Zest compact sedan in the country on August 12, 2014. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the Zest compact sedan is based on the thoroughly modified X1 platform which also underpins the Bolt hatchback. The first batch of the compact sedan has recently been rolled out from Tata’s Ranjangaon, Maharashtra unit. Moreover, the bookings for the car have already been commenced.

      The Zest compact sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol engine is the 1.2-litre MPFi turbocharged engine producing 89bhp while the oil burner is the tried & trusted 1.3-litre multi-jet engine that produces 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox; however, the diesel version will also get an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) option.

      The Tata Zest compact sedan is equipped with several high end features such as EPAS with active return function, speed sensitive power steering, Harman infotainment system with MapmyIndia navigation, 5-inch touchscreen and others. On design front, the Zest is undoubtedly the best looking Tata cars in India. Upfront is the aggressive front fascia with large chrome grille complemented by projector headlamps. The triangular shaped fog lamps and double slat air intake add to its sporty character.
