      Tata Motors signs a deal with Harman for developing customized infotainment solutions

      One of the top contenders in the passenger vehicle market in India, Tata Motors has contracted with Harman, a company aimed at providing high-end audio and infotainment solutions, for infusing best in class audio systems in the company’s product portfolio.

      The tactful multi-year deal will endow Harman to direct its engineering and development squad in building customized audio, navigation and other infotainment attributes for the vehicles manufactured by Tata Motors.

      The company has revealed that the first model to be furnished with the class leading infotainment package from Harman will be a limited edition of its flagship crossover SUV, Tata Aria. The details revealed include that the audio system will be inherited from the Harman’s JBL brand and will be embodying 10 speakers blessed with a sub-woofer.

      Mr. Dinesh Paliwal, Chairman, President and CEO of Harman, was quoted as saying, "This agreement with Tata Motors represents a milestone in the growth of branded audio and infotainment systems for the Indian market, and we are tremendously proud and honoured to be selected by Tata as their trusted supplier."

      He further said that with this tie-up both the companies will closely co-ordinate to create uniquely styled infotainment systems that will be aimed to entice the customers in the versatile Indian auto market.

      Tata Motors is gearing up to incorporate greater usage of Harman’s multimedia and audile systems in a bid to upscale the premium appeal of the vehicles produced under the Tata Motors marquee.
