      Tata Motors sales surge 20 percent during March 2012

      Tata Motors, the largest vehicle maker in the Indian market, has registered a surge of 20 percent in its sales during the month of March 2012. The company managed to sell 100,414 units of its cars during this month as compared to 83,363 cars sold in the same period last year.

      In the domestic passenger car segment, the company registered a surge of 34 percent during this month. The company sold a total of 36,984 units of their cars in the Indian market during this month as compared to 27,678 vehicles sold in the same month last year.

      The company’s most ambitious and most popular small car Tata Nano registered a sales surge of 10,475 units as compared to 8,707 units sold in the same month last year, accounting for a sales surge of 20 percent.

      On the other hand, the Indica range of cars saw a surge of 65 percent at 11,420 units. On the other hand the sales of Indigo series of cars increased 15 percent to 8,295 units during this month. The passenger utility vehicles of the company including (Tata Sumo, Tata Aria and Tata Safari) saw an increase of 40 percent to 6,794 units, during this month.
