The company appears to be leaving no stones unturned towards changing its strategy and brand image in the country, as its new Managing Director (MD), Karl Slym has already expressed his intentions of claiming the numero uno position of the Indian passenger car market. In October 2012, Tata Motors has introduced two of its most futuristic and visually appealing products in the domestic front, one being in a sedan guise called Manza Club Class, while the other being a relishing Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) with the namesake, Safari Storme.

The aggressive pricing of base variant of Tata Aria crossover is going to give the domestic Utility Vehicle (UV) enthusiasts great many things to ponder upon, before picking out their favourite. The Aria crossover offers the incredible and respectable performance of an SUV, besides checking all the boxes in terms of luxury and comfort quotient. The less than Rs. 10 lacs price tag of the new vehicle is going to fire up the competition in Indian passenger car market and makes Aria a very decent and attractive offering.

The trimmed down 2012 Tata Aria Pure LX comes fitted with a 2.2 litre DiCOR powertrain, which churns out a decent power and torque delivery of 139 bhp and 320 Nm, respectively. The drivetrain features a 4x2 configuration and the engine assembly is mated to a five-speed manual transmission system. However, the vehicle misses out on several attributes such as, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), 2 Din audio system and USB compatibility. Evidently, seven passengers including the driver can sit comfortably in the latest Aria Pure LX variant, which could prove to be a master stroke by Tata Motors for luring the family oriented Indian UV enthusiasts towards its showrooms in the country.
