      Tata Motors launches two new passenger bus models Starbus Ultra and Divo

      Tata Motors, the largest vehicle maker in the Indian auto market, launched two new bus models in the country on Tuesday. The new launches from the company include Starbus Ultra and Divo that carry a price tag of Rs 15 lakh and Rs 66 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom price). As per the company, the newly launched models will further strengthen its position in the rapidly growing urban public transport segment.

      While speaking on the occasion, president, commercial vehicles business unit, Mr. Ravi Pisharody, said,  "With the introduction of the Tata Divo and the Tata Starbus Ultra,  the company will more comprehensively address the burgeoning need of public transportation." He added that Divo offers customized interior features such as different seating layouts in semi-sleeper and seater configurations, wide seats with recline, head flaps and armrests.

      The Starbus Ultra model has been designed while taking into consideration the needs and requirement of the city bus transportation. The car has been launched in four variants including standard, school, luxury and deluxe models.

      On the other hand, the Divo variant is powered by a 285 hp Cummins engine, which comes joined with a six-speed overdrive gearbox. It is basically an intercity AC coach, which is not only a good transport medium for general public, but can also be well utilized for the tourist operations.
