      Tata Motors launches new Indica eV2 in India

      The country’s largest vehicle maker Tata Motors launched new variants of its popular hatchback Indica in the Indian market. The newly launched variants of the car include both diesel and petrol versions, priced at Rs 2.95 lakh and Rs 3.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Indica series has been named as – eV2 – in the country.

      According to the company, the newly launched diesel version of Indica eV2 offers a mileage of 25 kmpl (as tested by ARAI), making it country’s most fuel efficient car. The company said in a statement on Thursday, "Tata Motors today launched the Tata Indica eV2, the most fuel efficient car in India with a mileage of 25 kmpl, certified by the ARAI for the CR4 diesel engine.”

      While the petrol variant has been powered by a multi-point fuel injection engine, the new diesel version of eV2 sports a CR4 common rail diesel engine. "The Tata Indica eV2 is in the range of Rs 3.95 lakh and Rs 4.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the CR4 diesel engine and in the range of Rs 2.95 lakh and Rs 3.58 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the MPFI petrol," the company said in a statement.
