      Tata Motors global sales dip marginally in June

      India’s largest automobile producer, Tata Motors said its global sales have dipped nearly by one percent in the last month from 90,702 units to 89,846. However, the company further added that its sales for acquired Jaguar and Land Rover luxury brands rose by one percent in June to 20,358 units. When comparing the individual progress of the premium brands, Jaguar disappointed with a 40 percent drop in its sales to 4,038 units while the Land Rover tag brought gave a steep rise of 22 percent at 16,320 units, Tata Motors said in a statement.

      Tata Motors added that as far as the sales of passenger vehicles are concerned, they were stable at 44,561 units in June, but still recorded a 12 percent decline in sales compared to the last year’s June. Tata Motors' commercial vehicles business made the company proud, climbing by 13 percent to 45,285 units compared to the same month's sales in 2010.

      In recent years, Tata Motors has entered into collaboration with top utility vehicle companies as well as completely taking over some of them. International line up of commercial vehicle of Tata consists of Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera, while in the four wheeler sector, it has Tata passenger vehicles, luxury brands of Jaguar and Land Rover.
