Tata Motors, the largest auto company of South East Asia, has formed a partnership with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers to develop the engineers' professional registration in the country. With association among the two, the Indian engineers will be provided with internationally recognised measures of perfection, providing decent opportunities to the candidates.

On this, the Head of Tata Motors (Advanced and Product Engineering), Dr. Tim Leverton, quoted, “We are delighted that the professional development of Tata Motors Engineers can now be formally accredited under the worldwide recognised framework, offered by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Tata Motors and the Institution will also work together to build networks in industry and academia that can contribute to raising the standard of engineering across the subcontinent.”

Expressing the same sentiments, Chief Executive of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Stephen Tetlow, commented, “India has become a global leader in manufacturing and an international engineering powerhouse. We are delighted to partner with Tata Motors, one of India’s biggest success stories, and we are looking forward to working together to provide their engineers with an internationally recognised accreditation of training, education and standards, as well as opportunities to develop their knowledge.”

The alliance between Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Tata Motors will boost the morale of engineers in India.
