      Tata Motors Blaze de Rajasthan comes to an end at Jaipur

      Tata Motors Blaze de Rajasthan, the inaugural competitive time-speed-distance off-roading motorsports rally conducted by Tata Motors, ended in Jaipur, the Pink City, on June 10, 2012. Held over the span of a whole day, the 300 km rally was kicked off from Hotel Fern and included more then 53 cars of different makes. The rally was categorised into 4WD, 2WD and Women’s team, wherein motorsports enthusiasts from all parts of India participated with full gusto.

      This championship saw participants from Kashmir, two teams from Kolkata and close to 8 competitors from North, South and Western India square off in their respective categories. They delivered excellent performance on tough routes and adverse tracks that were created specially for this event. The routes had been tailored to be in line with the expectations as well as competencies of the racers, which ensured that they extracted the best performance from their vehicles.

      Talking about the Tata Motors Blaze de Rajasthan, Jatin Lakra, Head – Marketing - Sumo and Grande, Tata Motors, stated, “We are delighted with the response and participation we have received after hosting the first edition of a competitive off-roading rally in Jaipur, from SUV and passenger car owners from across the country. Tata Motors through its motorsports division, Tata Motors Full Throttle, hopes to create and cultivate motorsports in India, by giving enthusiast a platform to experience the true capabilities of their vehicles, and to learn and discuss the thrill of motorsports.”

      Sanjay Takale drove a Tata Xenon with co-driver Musthafa to win the 4WD Expert category, while Kartik Khanijo and his co-driver Ravee Patel triumphed in the 4WD Amateur category in a Toyota Fortuner. Likewise, G. Moorthy won the pole position in the 2WD Expert category while driving a Tata Sumo Gold with his co-driver Nagarajan. Virendra Singh drove a Maruti Suzuki Esteem with co-driver Jatin Paliwal to emerge victorious in the 2WD Amateur category. The ladies held their own in the event, as Sonu Bambi drove a Tata Indigo CS with Gauri Gupta to conquer the track in the Women's Team category.       In the Tata Motors Blaze de Rajasthan, the brand included in-city drives, hilly tarmac sections, sandy trails, an extreme trail, and tracks that were prepared specifically to assess the navigation skills of the racers. Thar Motorsports was the channel partner for the event and was responsible for its planning and execution. Tata Motors provided the requisite logistical, medical and service support for all the rallies.

      For the owners of Tata Motors Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), Tata Motors Full Throttle commenced two new off-roading brands under the ambit of the Full Throttle, namely Tata Motors Full Throttle Experience and Tata Motors Full Throttle Trails. The latter is an off-roading event that is held over just 1 day and includes 21 trails, wherein the next trail is slated to be conducted on June 17 in Ludhiana. On the other hand, the former is an off-roading expedition that is spread over a number of days, wherein the inaugural race will be begin from New Delhi on June 22, 2012. Over the duration of the year, 6 Experience Expeditions will be conducted.
