      Tata Motors awarded the Indian Multinational of the Year Award

      Tata Motors, the leading Indian vehicle manufacturer, has been conferred with the prestigious 'Indian Multinational of the Year' award, presented at the All India Management Association (AIMA) Managing India Awards 2013, held in Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi on April 11, 2013. Karl Slym, Managing Director (MD) for Tata Motors was felicitated with this award from President of India Pranab Mukherjee. This award is aimed at recognising management teams that undertake advanced development measures in the economy. Its jury comprised of eminent personalities, chaired by Sanjiv Goenka, Past President of AIMA and Chairman for the RP - Sanjiv Goenka Group. Winners have always been nominated for contributing to various categories of industry.

      Expressing his happiness at receiving this award, Karl Slym said, It is a great honour for me to receive this award on behalf of Tata Motors. To be recognised by this prestigious organisation as Indian Multinational of the year, rewards the efforts in this very important area for Domestic companies, embracing the responsibility to take India global. We have unique strengths and competitive advantages from operating in the Indian environment and from the local employees entrepreneurial culture. It is important that we use this to play to win on the global stage.”

      Tata Motors is ranked as the India’s largest automaker with consolidated revenues of Rs1,65,654 crore in 2011-12. With the help of subsidiaries, the company also operates in the international markets of UK, Thailand, South Korea, Thailand, Spain, Indonesia and South Africa. Jaguar Land Rover luxury brands are also owned by Tata Motors. Moreover, Tata is also the fourth biggest truck and bus maker in the world. These buses are being run in countries across Europe, Africa, South East Asia and South America.

      Apart from Karl Slym, there were some other leading business personalities of the country who won awards in different categories at the AIMA Managing India 2013 award function. While ‘Entrepreneur of the Decade’ award went to Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and MD of Reliance Industries Ltd., Business Leader of the Year was awarded to Pawan Munjal, MD and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hero MotoCorp Ltd. Shyam S Bhartia, Chairman & Co-Founder, Jubilant Bhartia Group, andHari S Bhartia,Co-Chairman & Founder, Jubilant Bhartia Group won the ‘Entrepreneurs of the Year’ award.
