      Tata Motors announces new customer oriented Horizonext strategy

      Tata Motors, the country's largest automobile manufacturer, has announced a new customer oriented strategy called Horizonext, for its passenger vehicle business in the Indian auto market. The company unveiled 8 improved models across 5 of its popular brands- Nano, Indica, Indigo, Sumo Gold and Safari Storme. The new cars would soon be available at Tata Motors' nationwide dealerships. Tata Motors' Horizonext customer oriented strategy has been created with four basic pillars- intense product focus, focus on world class manufacturing practices, enriched customer purchase experience and the last one being- consistent quality of service.

      Speaking his mind on the company's new Horizonext strategy, Karl Slym, Managing Director (MD), Tata Motors, was quoted as saying, “While the Indian automobile market has become intensely competitive, our goal is to enhance our market leadership in commercial vehicles and move to a strong podium finish in the passenger vehicle market. Horizonext is the next step in line with the company’s mission to be passionate in anticipating and providing the best vehicles and experiences that excite our customers globally. We are igniting that passion -- so that customers are central to us, in what we are offering in our products, in the manner we are engaging with them at our dealerships, and in the processes we have adopted in servicing their vehicles.”

      The unveiled Tata cars flaunt bold new styling with vibrant colours and graphic designs. The other features include improved suspension system, Feather-shift gearbox (F-shift) and an advanced multimedia entertainment system. Tata Motors has showcased improved

      variants of its entry level sedan Indigo eCS, utility vehicle Sumo Gold, entry level sub-compact Nano and hatchback Indica. The company also unwrapped its new CNG range of passenger cars like Indica, Indigo and Nano, along with the Explorer Edition of its Safari Storme Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).

      Commenting on the company's new range showcase, Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Units, Tata Motors, was quoted as saying, “Even as we unveil our business strategy focused on customer needs and wants, we today also showcased 8 new exciting products, across 5 brands, which is an industry first. These products clearly indicate the significant improvement we are bringing in our product quality. While we are working towards our next-generation product pipeline, today we are bringing best-in-class vehicle experience across different passenger car categories to enhance some of our great existing brands. Besides offering exciting new features, these cars will be backed by an engaging purchase experience and a transformed after-sales network.”

      The new Tata Indigo eCS range has set new benchmarks in the entry level compact sedan segment of the Indian auto market. The company showcased three variants- petrol, diesel and a new dual fuel petrol-CNG of the improved Indigo eCS range. The model gets several coming-of-age safety features, such as Rear Park Assist, e-ORVM with integrated blinkers and Anti-locking Braking System (ABS). The new Tata Indigo eCS range is available in 4 enticing colour options- Spanish Tan, Royal Burgundy, Porcelain White and Jet Silver. The Indigo eCS BS-III range starts at Rs. 4.99 lakh, while the Indigo eCS LS BS-IV comes with a starting price tag of Rs. 5.29 lakh (all prices ex showroom New Delhi). Further, the new Indigo eCS model comes equipped with an advanced F-Shift gearbox and its diesel trim boasts of an impressive mileage rating of 25 kmpl (certified by ARAI).

      The new Tata Sumo Gold is powered by the CR4 oil burner and comes with many comfort and convenience advancements like dual AC cooling, Bluetooth/USB connectivity, one touch power windows and an engine immobiliser. The new Sumo Gold range is being introduced in 5 trim levels- GX, FX, EX, LX and CX, along with a 3-year or 1,00,000 km (whichever is earlier) warranty.

      The new Tata Nano showcased model comes with a gamut of several new features, including remote twin glove boxes, keyless entry, four-speaker AmphiStream music system with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity. The company would be offering four customisation packages with the improved Nano- Jet, Alpha, Remix, and Peach. Tata Motors has also unveiled the dual fuel petrol-CNG Nano model and the entry level small car is expected to arrive at Tata Motors' dealerships by July 2013.

      The 2013 Tata Indica model has been given a premium image makeover and the hatchback boasts of luxurious dual tone interiors, improved transmission system and revised exterior design. The new Indica also gets the cutting edge Smart-shift gear technology (New TA65 gear transmission) that has been assimilated to its powerful petrol and diesel engines. The company has pulled wraps off the new models BS-III Indica V2, BS-IV Indica eV2 and the much awaited dual fuel petrol-CNG Indica.

      Tata Motors also unveiled a special Explorer Edition of its flagship Safari Storme model, which it calls 'The Real SUV'. The Explorer edition of Safari Storme has been equipped with an array of new thoughtful additions, such as a Blaupunkt touchscreen Double DIN Infotainment system, stylish door visors, bold nudge guard and explorer decals, along with adventure gears like camping kits and backpack. The Safari Storme Explorer Edition would be available at select company dealerships in the country.
