      Tata Motors adds new models in its CNG portfolio

      Tata Motors, the country's largest auto maker by revenue, has officially declared the launch of two new models in its CNG portfolio, namely Tata Indigo emax and Tata Indica emax. Reportedly, these two new models have been launched in 6 markets across the country and will be now offered in Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tripura. The new line-up of models comes equipped with highly efficient engine, with dual fuel option of petrol and CNG. Interestingly, the Tata Indica emax and Tata Indigo emax returns a low carbon footprint of 0.338 g/ km and 0.251 g/km, respectively. Coming to their fuel efficiency, both the models covers a distance of around 24.6 km/kg and 23.7 km/kg, respectively.

      Expressing his views at the launch ceremony, the Senior Vice President for Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (Commercial) at Tata Motors, Ankush Arora was quoted as saying, “CNG is gaining momentum in the Indian automobile market and we are happy to announce expansion of our CNG portfolio. The introduction of the new variants comes as an essential step that underlines our commitment to be a sustainable automotive player. At Tata Motors, the core philosophy behind the launch of every new vehicle is anticipating what our customers need and blending it with the best-in-class technology and design engineering. Besides offering exciting new features, these cars will be backed by an engaging purchase experience and advanced technology to be an economic, friendly choice for consumers. This helps us arrive at an end product that suits the inherent automotive needs of our customers in a holistic way.”

      It must be noted that Tata Motors unveiled its emax line-up at Horizonext event, which was organised in Pune in June 2013. At this event, the auto maker revealed its commitment to launch the CNG range in a properly phased manner, being Nano emax at the first position. On the launch of Tata Indigo emax, experts are of a view that it is a fusion of power, luxury and performance. Notable, Tata Indigo emax has been tagged as the country's most fuel efficient sedan. It comes equipped with a performance oriented bi-fuel engine, which churns out a maximum power of 65 bhp at 5000 rpm, while returning an astounding mileage of 24.6 km/kg. Along with, it offers an additional range of up to 230 kilometres in CNG fuel option, while more than 650 km in petrol fuel. While designing this model, prime focus was paid on performance and comfort, which can be manifested in its drivability.

      A big credit has been also given to its advanced F-Shift (TA65* Cable Shift) transmission system and the new Duo Float suspensions, which together have made the new Tata Indigo emax a pleasure car to drive. The inner cabin of Tata Indigo emax is also extremely quiet, owing to its all new NVH package, which has reduced external noises. Amid all these advancements, the price of new Tata Indigo emax starts from Rs. 4.99 lakh and goes up to Rs. 5.27 lakh.

      Coming to the specialities of Tata Indica emax, it happens to be another green and fuel efficient car from the much appreciated Indian auto maker. Although it is a green vehicle, the new Tata Indica emax does not compromise on torque and fuel efficiency, It returns an average of 23.7km/kg with an additional range of 230 kilometres in CNG option and more than 600 km in petrol fuel. One of the key highlights of Tata Indica emax is its spacious interiors, which have set new standards for comfort and space. Industry experts believe that Tata Indica emax will soon emerge as one of the country’s favourite cars in hatchback segment. It has been offered in a price range of Rs. 3.99 lakh for Tata Indica GLS, which further goes up to Rs. 4.26 lakh for the Tata Indica GLX variant (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
