Tata Motors, the country's leading Commercial Vehicle (CV) maker, has gathered its biggest ever single deal for CVs from Siddhivinayak Logistics (SVLL), to deliver 1,314 trucks during the fiscal. According to the reported Rs. 225 crore deal, SVLL will receive Indian CV makers' newly launched trucks including, the Tata Prima 4923 LX and the Tata LPT 3723, termed as the pioneer with its 5-axle rigid driving mechanism.

Siddhivinayak Logistics is the country's biggest commercial fleet owner with over 4,000 units in operation. Surat based, SVLL has a very varied operational structure, with involvement in various sectors like cement, chemicals, steel, tractors and machinery. The huge Tata order coincided with the launch of SVLL's highly innovative program called 'Chalak se malak', which means the well being of the drivers (Commercial vehicles).

Expressing his views on the occasion, RC Baid, Founder and Chief Mentor, SVLL, said, “We have been using Tata vehicles for decades and are pleased with the quality, engagement and after-sales services. We appreciate the commitment of Tata Motors in helping us become a specialist and India’s fastest-growing surface transport company. Through this order, we further strengthen our relationship with Tata Motors.”

Highlighting the company's delight with the new order, Vinod Sahay, Head, Sales and Marketing, Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors, said, “We are delighted that our association with SVLL continues unabated. We are honoured to receive this prestigious order and are committed to deliver these vehicles this fiscal year. We thank the company for their continued trust and patronage of our brand.”

The New Tata Prima 4923 LX comes from the family of 230 bhp Prima trucks and has been designed keeping in mind the requirements of transporters who require low power-to-weight ratio. The world class trucks are equipped with Cummins ISBe electronic engine with common rail injection for improved fuel injection, and are assimilated with the country's first self developed 9-speed transmission system along with an overdrive function which provides superior fuel efficiency. Prima trucks are coupled with a 430 mm diameter organic clutch and 10-T rear axle that ensure a balanced and robust driving dynamics. The Tata Prima LX's comes with an optional Air Conditioning system, 4-point suspension for reduced vibration and double sleeper bunks, which deliver prime comfort to the driver.

The Tata LPT 3723 is India's first 5-axle rigid truck and has been termed as a game changer in the domestic CV market. The truck can hold an impressive 4.5 tonnes of load more than the current 31 tonne multi-axle commercial vehicle. Thus, the LPT 3723 CV is believed to change the Indian transportation scene by cutting the cost per tonne/kilometre of transportation.
