The Tata Tigor has just been launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 4.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The diesel range begins from Rs 5.60 lakh.
The sub-compact sedan is available in both petrol and diesel engine variants. While the petrol version comes powered by the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol mill (84bhp, 114Nm), the diesel trim is powered by a 1.05-litre three-cylinder turbocharged unit (69bhp, 140Nm). Both these engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while an automatic gearbox model is expected to be launched at a later date.
In addition to the powertrain, the Tigor has also borrowed design and interior features from its sibling - the Tiago. And despite being based on the same IMPACT Design philosophy, exclusive to this brand, the Tigor has many features which set it apart from the hatchback. The fascia boasts of projector headlamps with a double-barrel layout and blacked out surrounds, which are unique to the Tigor. And at the rear, the sedan gets a 'styleback' design with a 419 litre boot- the best in its segment.
