      Tata launches new Aria 4X2 in India

      Tata Motors, the largest vehicle maker in the Indian market, has launched three new variants of its popular MUV (multi utility vehicle) – Aria – in the country. All new variants are equipped with two-wheel drive system which was not available with the Tata Aria series, so far.

      Speaking in a release issued in Mumbai on Tuesday, Tata Motors managing director Indian operations PM Telang said, "With the introduction of the Tata Aria 4x2, we make the range comprehensive. The Aria 4x2 is launched in three trim levels - the Aria Prestige at the top-end, the Aria Pleasure and the Aria Pure at the lower-end."

      So far the Tata Aria Crossover was available in the 4X4 version only in the country. With the launch of new 4X2 version, the Aria series will be enabled to compete more promptly with its rivals like Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. The new Aria 4X2 series is available with a starting price range of Rs 11.61 lakh onwards (ex-showroom, Delhi).

      The Aria model was launched in the Indian market a few months back with aim of capitalizing on the rising demand for crossover segment vehicles in the Indian market. The vehicle was first showcased at the Delhi Auto in January 2010, where it had attracted a large number of car enthusiasts and visitors.

      The all new Aria 4X2 with be sold with Aria 4X4 across 85 cities of the country through over 150 Tata showrooms.
