Tata-owned Jaguar Land Rover is planning to announce around 800 job vacancies at its Solihull plant in the Midlands. The auto maker already employs close to 24,000 individuals in UK, which makes it one of Britain’s biggest employers. Reportedly, the confirmation of new recruitments will be made somewhere around Detroit Motor Show.

The iconic British luxury sports car maker, which was acquired by Tata in 2008, came up with its record profits of 1.5 billion pounds during 2012, owing to significant boost in its international sales. After being overlooked by Tata Motors, JLR marked a significant increase in its sales and profits. Interestingly, during last year, the auto maker announced 1,000 new jobs at its Halewood plant on Merseyside.

Currently, the auto company is planning to introduce 40 new models in the next five years, which will be followed by a proposed production capacity of around 60,000 units each year. Being a part of launch plan, JLR is expected to introduce a new Range Rover somewhere in April 2013.

Under the power of Ratan Tata, Tata Group planned to design an engine plant at Wolverhampton in West Midlands, worth 350 million pounds. Recently, JLR announced its plans introducing a scheme to train an additional of around 150 staff members each year, alongside Warwick University. Along with expansion in UK, the auto maker is looking ahead to increase presence in India and China as well, which is expected to double its global production before the end of 2020.
