Tata Indigo e-CS Claimed as Most Fuel Efficient Sedan

Tata Indigo sedan has been claimed as the most fuel efficient sedan amongst its competitors in its segment. Tata Motors had recently launched the new BS IV compliant Indigo sedan e-CS which is powered by 1.4 litre CR4 Common Rail Diesel engine giving ARAI approved mileage of 23.03 kmpl.

The diesel engine churns out 70 PS of power @ 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque @ 1,800 – 3,000 rpm , whereas a 1.2L MPFi petrol engine with a power output of 62PS @ 5,000 rpm and 100 Nm of torque @ 2,700 rpm is also on offer. Both the engines are coupled to a 5 forward and a reverse speed gearbox.

The new car also comes with refreshed exteriors including a new grille, body coloured bumpers, chrome inserts on rub rails and indicators on the rear view mirrors. On the inside, the Indigo e-CS has borrowed a lot from the Indigo XL, including the new centre console and the steering wheel. Other features that will add value to the new car are Bluetooth enabled music system and electric controls for the rear view mirrors.

The new model is priced at Rs. 5.13 lakh and above (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the earlier version is still priced at Rs. 4.07 lakh powered by 1.2L engine.
