Ahead of its official launch in January 2015, Tata Motors has initiated online bookings for the much-awaited Bolt hatchback. One can book the Bolt at a token amount of Rs. 11,000. It will be the second all new car under the company’s HORIZONEXT portfolio.
The Tata Bolt hatchback is claimed to be equipped with best-in-class features and in-car infotainment system. The vehicle has been designed with the help of three Tata Motors design studios – Pune (India), Coventry (UK), and Turin (Italy). Showcasing the company’s brand new design philosophy, the new hatchback gets floating roofline and blackened C-pillar.
The Tata Bolt hatchback is also loaded with segment-leading features and lots of chrome embellishment to add some elegance to it. The centre console features the best-in-class infotainment and HVAC. The Bolt hatchback will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol version gets the 1.2-litre turbocharged Multi-point fuel injection unit that is good for 90PS of power and 140Nm of torque, the oil burner is the tried & tested Fiat’s sourced 1.3L Multi-Jet motor that produces 75PS of power and 190Nm of flat torque. The petrol unit also offers three driving modes- Sport, City and Eco. Power is transmitted to front wheels of the hatchback via a five-speed manual gearbox.
Talking about the safety features, the vehicle gets anti-lock braking system, corner stability control, dual airbags, etc. For passengers’ entertainment & connectivity, the hatchback gets new HARMAN touchscreen infotainment system with MapMyIndia for smart phone based navigation.
