Tata Motors that launched the Zest compact sedan is now gearing up for the launch of the much-awaited Bolt hatchback in the market. Set to rival Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10, the Bolt hatchback is the second product from Tata’s Falcon project. Just like the Zest, the homegrown automaker is also expecting a positive response for its upcoming hatchback which is scheduled to go on sale in coming weeks.

The Tata Bolt hatchback will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the petrol version gets the 1.2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged unit from REVOTRON engine family, the oil burner is the tried & tested 1.3-litre multi-jet unit. The gasoline motor is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox and is capable of producing a top power output of 89bhp and 140Nm of top torque. Its diesel unit makes 74bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to a five-speed gearbox which sends the power to front wheels of the car. It was speculated to get AMT variant; however, the company will only launch the manual version. Expect AMT variant to come later.
