Tata Aria has received yet another price slash recently owing to painstakingly slow sales momentum in domestic market. The crossover is now available at a starting price of Rs 8.95 lakh. In its short stint of four years the crossover has been a dud seller and has not been able to garner good response from the customers. At this price Tata Aria is a lucrative offering that offers a roomier cabin stuffed with high end features. The latest price cut is also being seen as an after effect of new Scorpio launch in domestic market.
A mild facelift version was launched earlier this year that sported the same 2.2 litre, Four cylinder, VariCOR, turbo diesel engine good for a top power output of 147 Bhp along with peak torque of 320 Nm.
The LX Pure variant is employed with the same engine that received revivification recently to deliver enhanced power output. Besides this the crossover also underwent subtle cosmetic change. The diesel powertrain is claimed to return a promising fuel economy of 15.05 kmpl. Tata Araia range also includes a rear wheel drive and all wheel drive variants, however the Pure and Pleasure trim levels come devoid of the all wheel drive system only the top-of-the-line variant is bestowed with the all wheel drive system as a standard feature.
Placed as the entry level variant, Pure trim misses out on various safety features including Anti-Lock-Braking system and airbags. Priced aggressively the Pure variant is a pocket friendly option in Aria range. However it remains to be seen if the recent slash will help Aria garner more sales or not.
