Suzuki Swift Sport Auto Salon revealed

The special edition Swift will share the stage with the XBEE Winter Adventure at the Japanese tuner auto show. The Swift Sport gets a stealthy black treatment with larger and stylish chrome black alloy wheels. There are contrasting bright red highlights under the front lip bumper, on the side skirts decals and the ORVMs. The grille gets a distinct satin silver highlight as well apart from gloss black coat louvre in the middle. There are contrasting grey coloured decals on the side of the car. The sporty hatchback also looks lowered to further accentuate its stealthy theme.

The carmaker hasn’t divulged any details about the powertrain boost, but given the last gen M16A Swift Sport update, there will be some additional bump in power figures. The Swift Sport is powered by the K14, 1.4-litre Boosterjet motor scrounged from the Vitara crossover. It produces 138bhp and 230Nm, but the show car from Tokyo is expected to boast a slight increase in power output.

Apart from the Swift Sport Auto Salon, Suzuki will also display the XBEE Winter Adventure based on the new XBEE crossover wagon. The show car features four shades of military-style blue camouflage wrap. It is completed with bright yellow highlights and a roof rack. The compact XBee is powered by a K10C 1.0-litre direct-injection three-cylinder turbocharged engine with a mild hybrid system producing 99bhp and 150Nm.

Joining these two dashing highlights will be the Solio Bandit, Alto Works and Wagon R Stingray as well. The carmaker will also showcase the kei-truck Carry and the camper guise of the Spacia christened as the Spacia Tall Camper.

The 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon will open its gates on 12 January at the Makuhari Messe convention centre in the Chiba prefecture. The Japanese performance and custom parts show is one of the top motor shows globally for modified and tuned cars.
