      Suzuki Motorcycle signs Salman Khan to promote upcoming Hayate bike

      Suzuki Motorcycle India, a rapidly surging Indian unit of the leading Japanese automaker Suzuki, is all set to launch Hayate commuter bike in the Indian market by mid-May 2012. In a bid to give the Hayate a staggering opening in the Indian market, the company has signed Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan as brand ambassador of this upcoming bike. Going ahead with this expansion plan, the company is looking forward to produce as many as 10,000 units per month of Hayate bike from the month of May 2012.

      The company, which has recently launched new Swish 125 CC in India, is working aggressively on ramping-up its production capacity in the country along with further strengthening its sales & service network.

      At present, the production capacity of the firm is about 3.6 lakh units at its Gurgaon based manufacturing unit and the plant is currently operating on its full capacity. The Suzuki Motorcycle India plans to invest a sum of Rs 500 crore to expand its capacity at this plant to about 4.7 lakh units by the end of this financial year.

      Besides expanding its existing plant, the company is also looking forward to set-up a new production plant at Rohtak in Haryana.
