      Suzuki Intruder M800 launched in India at Rs 8.88 lakh

      Suzuki Motorcycle India, the Indian unit of the Japanese auto giant Suzuki Motor Corp, launched has launched its much awaited cruiser bike – Intruder M800 – on Monday. The fascinating bike carries a price tag of Rs 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The major competitor of the new Intruder M800 will be a few models of the American bike maker Harley Davidson.

      Carrying a 805 cc, 8-valve V-twin fuel-injected liquid-cooled engine at its heart, the M800 model is claimed to be delivering sublime performance on the Indian roads. The new Suzuki bike has been launched in 12 cities of the country including Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune.

      Speaking to the reporters on the occasion, Atul Gupta, vice-president of sales & marketing at Suzuki Motorcycle India, said, "The Intruder M800 is more focused as an entry level cruiser segment which performs like its bigger brother (M1800) giving a chance to the Indian youth to step in to the world of performance biking." He added that Suzuki is known worldwide for superior technology and the company intends to showcase the same in India.

      Besides M800, Suzuki Motorcycle India already has a number of other cruiser bikes in its India portfolio that comprises of GSX-R1000 priced at Rs 13.75 lakh, 1350 cc Hayabusa priced at Rs 13 lakh, Intruder M 1800 cc priced at Rs 13.25 lakh, and Bandit 1200S carrying a price tag of Rs 8.8 lakh in India.
