Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s largest passenger car maker, has introduced a reworked model of its Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Ertiga in the Indonesian auto market. The main highlight of the reworked model is its double blower air conditioner, which further adds to the convenience of passengers. Initially, Ertiga was launched somewhere in April 2012 in India and Indonesia.

The 2013 Ertiga has been provided with little upgrades, including a redesigned front grille, which now features three horizontal chrome linings, against the honeycomb mesh used earlier. Reportedly, the auto maker has packed twin blowers for second and third row passengers. According to sources, these reworks are made in the top two variants, namely GL and GX. The base model of Ertiga, GA, continues to feature a single blower air conditioner, in order to maintain the competitive pricing of the model. The top model, GX, is assimilated with dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), engine immobiliser and side impact beam. On the other hand, the GL model is only provided with engine immobiliser and side impact beam.

Reportedly, Ertiga received an overwhelming response from the buyers in both India and Indonesia. The sales figures of this model clearly stated that it has carved a special position for itself in the Indonesian auto market, which provoked Suzuki Motor Corporation to introduce the facelift model of Ertiga. In India, the auto maker produces its Ertiga MPV at Gurgaon unit, whereas in the Indonesian market the auto maker assembles it at the Suzuki’s Bekasi plant

The reworked Ertiga GL model is currently sold for 160.8 million Indonesian Rupiah, which equates somewhere around Rs. 9 lakhs, whereas the GX variant is offered with a price tag of 172.8 million Indonesian Rupiah (around Rs 9.7 lakhs). After this upgraded model, industry experts are looking forward for the launch of an automatic version Ertiga, which has been not yet considered by the auto maker.
