Amidst modern practicality, Indian roads are largely influenced by cars to a great extent, ascertained their dominance in the Indian auto market. However still at present, two wheelers are considered to be the most flexible method of commutation through the hustling roadway. Unhindered by accumulating traffic, the motorbikes can easily turn their way around and cruise ahead of the congestion. With an intention to enhance the motor riding comfort of passengers, Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited is planning to bring its new creation to the Indian auto market. A pre-eminent motorcycle manufacturer of the country, Suzuki Motorcycle has decided to launch its new two-wheeler model called Inazuma GW250 in the country. The new model will be arriving in the domestic market in January 2014 and will be manufactured at the Suzuki Motorcycle's plant in Gurgaon.
While reporting to an Autocar Professional, Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India Limited said, "We are going to launch the 250cc motorcycle next month (January 2014) and new products to expand our current portfolio in the upcoming Auto Expo 2014. We are equally focussing on the scooters and the motorcycles."
Flaunting a sleek design, Suzuki Inazuma GW250 carries a 250 cc twin-cylinder four-stroke engine optimised to perfection for moderate speed in city streets and is capable of giving pure adrenaline rush on open roads. Glancing on to the technical specification of the motorbike, the engine is a newly designed liquid cooled SOHC 2-cylinder in-line unit, blended with a 6-speed transmission. Unlike the ongoing two-wheelers in the country, Suzuki GW250 bears a moderately heavy engine, providing the bike with an optimal low-mid range torque of 24 Nm and developing a power output of 26 bhp. Industry experts are of a view that these figures are sufficient enough for the motorcycle to cruise speedily on the Indian roads.
The outer complexion of the motorcycle features three spoke aluminium alloys perforated with hydraulic disc breaks on the front and rear rims. A shimmering chrome exhaust is attached to the sideways, providing better emission to the bike. A digital LCD speedometer, twin trip meter, clock, odometer, fuel gauge readouts, 3-mode rpm indicator (Normal mode, Eco mode and Off), maintenance interval indicator and LED indicators are lumped on the main digital panel.
With the current production of two scooters, namely Swish 125 and Access 125, and three bikes, Hayate, Slingshot and GSR150R, Suzuki is giving the domestic buyers an adequate selection to choose from. Sources have claimed that the company is aiming to increase its production and planning to launch a few more models of their vehicles in the upcoming time, in order to increase its market share. According to auto experts, the approach of Suzuki GW250 in the domestic market heralds a stiff competition from the likes of Honda CBR250R, KTM Duke 200, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS and Kawasaki Ninja 250. The Suzuki Motorcycle will be brought to India by Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and its success will solely depend on the price tag it bears. So, avid riders should wait before making any hurried plans of purchasing ongoing models as Suzuki Inazuma GW250 might turn out to be a game changer in its segment.
